Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse, David Jones recall A’kin Mild & Gentle Shampoo

A batch of a popular shampoo has been pulled from supermarket and chemist shelves because of concerns about a possible bacterial outbreak.

Bottles of A’kin Mild & Gentle Shampoo Fragrance Free & Hypoallergenic have been recalled because they may be contaminated with Enterobacter Gergoviae, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said.

The recalls concerns 500ml bottles of the shampoo, which sells for $26.95 at some retailers.

The ACCC said the recall was for batch number “AW2D01”.

The batch number can be found on the back of the bottle above the bar code.

No other batches are affected, the ACCC said.

The shampoo is sold at Woolworths, David Jones, Priceline, Chemist Warehouse and other pharmacies, with the affected batch believed to be on sale to September 15.
