Bruce Lehrmann trial: Senator Linda Reynolds to give evidence at Brittany Higgins rape trial

Senator Linda Reynolds will be called to give evidence in the high-profile rape trial of Bruce Lehrmann on Tuesday.

Mr Lehrmann is accused of raping Brittany Higgins in Senator Reynolds’ ministerial office at Parliament House after drinking with work colleagues in March 2019.

He has pleaded not guilty to sexual intercourse without her consent and being reckless to her consent.

Senator Reynolds and Coalition colleague Senator Michaelia Cash have been listed to appear as a prosecution witness.

ACT Director of Public Prosecutions Shane Drumgold is expected to close the Crown’s case later on Tuesday.

It comes as Ms Higgins is expected to return to the witness box to resume her cross-examination on Friday.

The jury was told on Monday that she was unavailable. The trial has continued in her absence, hearing evidence from other witnesses.
