Two people in hospital after separate shootings in Queensland


A man and a woman have been hospitalised with facial injuries after they were shot in separate attacks south of Brisbane.

Queensland detectives are investigating the shootings in Crestmead and Eagleby which happened between 3:30pm and 9pm on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, Police say a dark coloured car entered Bix Court in Crestmead where a man got out of the vehicle and began arguing with another man in the front yard.

He then raised a firearm and allegedly fired one shot, which missed the other man but struck a 58-year-old woman nearby.

The woman suffered non-life threatening facial injuries but remains in hospital on Sunday morning for treatment.

The second shooting occurred at around 9pm Saturday, when a light coloured car passed an address and fired a shot from the vehicle that struck a man standing in his front yard.

The man was also treated for non life-threatening facial injuries and taken to hospital.

Investigations are continuing to determine if the two shootings were linked, and Police are appealing for members of the public who might have seen a dark coloured Mazda CX9 or a light coloured Mitsubishi Lancer in the suburbs to contact them.
