Love Island UK star Liberty Poole has revealed how she was left on the brink of tears after being “verbally abused” by a group of men at an airport.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the reality TV star – who rose to fame on the popular dating show in 2021 – said it left her “feeling like sh*t”.
Liberty, 23, told fans how she headed to the airport to jet off on holiday on Friday morning when the upsetting incident happened, The Sun reports.
Taking to her Instagram stories in a video, she said: “I just wanted to come on and speak about my experience that happened tonight.
“I went to the airport and I literally went with no lashes, no foundation, I was really stripped back and just me.
“I was verbally abused by a group of lads in public, shouting at me, ‘You’ve gone downhill since Love Island, you’re such a catfish.’
“They were going on to the plane and telling members of staff, ‘Have you seen Liberty?’ just because I went to the airport stripped back.
“I want people to know that, social media, you’re going to post your best pictures but you’re not always going to be glam or on top form.
“I’m unfiltered and stripped back and this is me, and I’m not ashamed and I’m not going to be ashamed to be myself.”
She went on to reveal how after the flight a number of women came up to “take photos” before telling her they would “put a filter on her”.
“Thank you to those people that made me feel like sh*t and I cried, but I’ll pick myself back up because I’m a boss b**ch,” she said.
It comes after Liberty hit out in a stinging message to her ex as she posed in a very revealing outfit on Instagram.
The reality star wowed fans in a plunging white top and sparkly skirt with a caption that read: “She’s a keeper, too bad you didn’t keep her.”
She sensationally ended her romance with boyfriend Jake Cornish, 25, during her time on Love Island UK, resulting in the pair quitting the show together.
After Liberty and Jake quit the villa, the 23-year-old refused to rule out claims her ex was “playing a game” on the show after he was slammed by furious fans.
The former Nandos waitress has admitted that she doesn’t know if he had a “game plan” when he coupled up with her.
Viewers accused Jake of sticking with Liberty to guarantee a place in the final, given her immense popularity.
