Richard Gere, 73, and wife Alejandra Silva, 40 share rare family photo

Richard Gere’s wife, Alejandra Silva, has shared a rare peek at their family life in honour of her 40th birthday.

The Spanish publicist and mother-of-two posted a picture on Instagram of herself on the beach with her four-year-old son, Alexander, and his little brother, who was born in April 2020.

Gere, 73, and Silva, 40, were enjoying a holiday together with their children to celebrate her birthday.

“Thank you all for the birthday wishes … after almost 3 weeks of everyone being sick in our family, today finally I feel much better,” she captioned the image.

“Thank you for all the love … I give it all back to you! #Happybirthday #Happy40.”

As well as his two children with Silva, Gere is father to Homer, 22, whom he shares with ex-wife Carey Lowell, while Silva has another son, Albert, 9, from a previous marriage.

Gere and Silva first began dating in 2014 after a friendship spanning more than a decade.

They tied the knot in 2018, with a source confirming to People magazine they were “extraordinarily happy”.

“They’re so comfortable with each other, have fun together, and are looking forward to their future together.”

Another source told the publication that Gere “has been much happier in this half of his life because he is settled, confident and doing what he likes.”
