MAFS 2023: Fury at Married At First Sight husband Cam

Fans have been left furious at a MAFS husband who dropped a bombshell on his wife.

During Wednesday night’s dimmer party, Cam and Lyndall’s marriage went under the spotlight. He’d decided it was the time to fess up about the extent of his FIFO – or, rather – DIDO – lifestyle.

The discussion left Lyndall totally blindsided and questioning if they have a future together beyond the experiment. It also left fans seething at “coward Cam”.

“The biggest concern I’ve got after this experiment is where I’m going to be at,” Cam told the group.

When asked what that future would look like for him, everyone was surprised to learn it would be no different to what it was like prior to the experiment.

“Living out in the Territory with my remote work, I’ve spent the last eight years focusing on my career to get to the position that I’m at now.”

When Ollie asked if he expected Lyndall to be flexible for him, he said: “What’s the point of moving, why would you move from Perth away from all your family when I’m not gonna be in Darwin – I’ll still be out remote?”

The experts noted it seemed like an excuse and he was showing no flexibility.

Cam then detailed how when he’s working he could be more than 100km away from an airport, with no reception for “six months to a year”.

Lyndall appeared shocked and heartbroken.

“I knew he was going to be out working remote but I didn’t realise just how long he’d be away. I just went into shock, I actually don’t know what we’re going to do … I’m in a bit of a weird place, because I was under the impression that, like, I would move to Darwin, but now the situation is, a long-distance relationship.

“ … You want to go back to your career without moulding me into that and I’m wondering whether or not I’m gonna be able to be OK with that. It’s actually incredibly hurtful he’s not considering me at all.”

When asked if he could come back to Perth between his jobs, he refused: “I have to work around work.”

Alessandra said: “Is he getting cold feet here?”

It’s especially interesting given that he told the group that when he signed up for the experiment, he said he would move for love.

“Hearing that he came into the experiment thinking that if he found he right person he would give up his job, he would move. So, it was devastating …that I’m not the person he was willing to do that for. That’s the thing that hurts”.

Fans were outraged at his treatment of Lyndall, saying she deserves much better. Some even argued that if it was Tayla he was coupled with in the experiment, he would move to Tasmania for her.
