QLD: Two charged over Gold Coast buttocks stabbing

Two men have been charged, and are due to face court, after allegedly bashing a man and stabbing him in the rear, putting the victim in hospital.

It happened about 5.30am on March 5 in the Gold Coast suburb of Miami when the men, aged 20 and 22, allegedly assaulted a 30-year-old man known to them outside a property on Mountain View Ave.

Queensland Police allege one of the men was armed with a steel bar, the other a knife, using them to strike the man on his head and torso before he was stabbed in the buttocks.

The alleged victim fled into a nearby residence. Police claim the two other men smashed the glass door of the property before fleeing.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old Upper Coomera man was arrested later on March 5 and charged with wounding, assault occasioning bodily harm, and enter dwelling.

He’s since appeared in Southport Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody to reappear on April 27.

A 20-year-old Burleigh Waters man was arrested on Monday night and is due in the same court on Tuesday on the same three charges.
