Queensland Police lockdown suburb of Oxley due to ‘unfolding incident’

Police have urged residents in one suburb to remain in their homes, as reports a potentially armed man is in the area.

At about 1.50pm on Wednesday, Queensland Police made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) as an “incident” was unfolding at Oxley in South Brisbane.

Authorities warned residents in the exclusion zone in Portal St, Dowding St and Greenview St to stay inside and lock their doors.

As of 3.30pm, police were conducting emergency operations in the area.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told NCA NewsWire authorities were looking for a person who may or may not be armed.

More to come.
