Met Gala 2023: Priyanka Chopra Jonas FaceGym selfie exposes skincare ‘secret’


Star’s are banned from taking selfies at The Met – with one celebrity’s pre-event snap exposing a huge A-lister “secret”.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas took to social media hours before the prestigious fashion ball took place to share the trick she uses to ensure she has a “snatched” face.

“MET Monday with FaceGym,” she captioned the sneaky photograph.

For those not in the know, FaceGym, is an “extreme facial workout” which recently launched in Australia in Mecca’s flagship Sydney store.

The wild beauty procedure uses an array of high-tech tools to give a “one-of-a-kind workout” for your chops.

FaceGym’s signature involves vigorous knuckling movements and high-energy whipping strokes to stimulate blood circulations and collagen production – but a quick scroll on TikTok shows it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted.

However, the result is a visibly sculpted, lifted and toned appearance which reportedly last as long as 12 months if done regularly. Stars love it.

While ordinary gymgoers would have to visit a dedicated clinic for treatment, costing between $95 and $500, Met-goers underwent their workouts from the comfort of their hotel rooms.

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is married to singer Nick Jonas, shared a selfie during her rigorous facial exercise sesh – which she later flaunted the results of on the red carpet.

In the snap, the mother-of-one can be seen with her dark hair pulled back from her face, her skin slathered in brand’s best-selling skincare products.

She wasn’t the only famous face to have opted for the skin-enhancing treatment ahead of the fundraising gala held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

FaceGym took to social media to reveal Florence Pugh, Ariana DeBose and Stephanie Hsu also worked out with them before the hitting the red carpet.

“We’re back on the red carpet tonight for fashion’s biggest night of the year, THE MET GALA in New York!” the brand wrote on Instagram.

The British brand, which first launched with a pop up in London in 2014 and now boasts 14 studios in London, Manchester, New York, and Los Angeles and Australia, is fast becoming a firm favourite among the elite ahead during awards season.

Makeup artist Alexx Mayo previously revealed singer Lizzo had her face bounced and pummelled with FaceGym’s instantly recognisable tools ahead of her performance at the 2023 BRIT Awards.

“We started with a little Weighted Ball warm-up, just to release any facial tension and relax the skin and facial muscles ready for our sculpting session,” Alex revealed on Instagram in February.

“Next, I used the FaceGym Pro EMS Tool for some toning and sculpting along the contours of the face, focusing mainly on the jawline and cheekbones.

“I’m always blown away by how quickly you see the results, it’s definitely my must-have tool for the red carpet.”

For the eyes, Alex said he used the brand’s Medi Lift Eye Mask to “refresh and rejuvenate for a more wide-awake look” and finished with the Multi-Sculpt Gua Sha.

Products from the FaceGym range can also be purchased to use at home, ranging from $20 for a popular serum up to $223 for a month’s supply of a daily collagen treatment.

Sydney Sweeney’s ‘amazing’ Met Gala hair

Another showstopping beauty moment from the 2023 Met Ball is American actress Sydney Sweeney’s hair – which has been described online as “on point”.

Award-winning Australian hair colourist Jaye Edwards told news.com.au her soft, sandy blonde hue cements the current root stretch trend which has boomed amid the cost of living crisis.

“This muted, soft, sandy blonde is immaculate. I love seeing this more lived-in colour on Sydney, as a departure from her signature bombshell blonde,” the EdwardsAndCo founder said.

“The natural tone is giving Sofia Richie’s old money aesthetic, paired with her voluminous, soft and loose curls, creating a super sophisticated look.

Makeup icon Charlotte Tilbury’s stunning appearance

Meanwhile British makeup mogul Charlotte Tilbury was even spotted on the carpet with her muse, Lily James, proving just how highly stars value their glam squad.

Ahead of stepping onto the carpet alongside the English actress, Tilbury oversaw some of the night’s most glamorous looks – including famous redhead Jessica Chastain, who was virtually unrecognisable with blonde hair.

Other stars whose faces were adorned with Charlotte Tilbury products included Kate Moss. and actresses Salma Hayek and Sienna Miller.

Their the glowing red carpet looks were created with the brand’s new “Summer of Lovegasm” collection which features a new beauty light wand in “pinkgasm sunset”, a limited-edition and the highly anticipated return of the “glowgasm” face palette.
