Ukraine says nuclear risk ‘growing rapidly’ after dam damage

KYIV, Ukraine: Kyiv said Tuesday the danger of a nuclear disaster was increasing after a dam around 150 kilometres (93 miles) from the Zaporizhzhia power plant was damaged, though Russia denied any major risk.
“The world once again finds itself on the brink of a nuclear disaster, because the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant lost its source of cooling. And this danger is now growing rapidly,” Ukrainian presidential aide Mykhaylo Podolyak said.
