Road rage brawl: Traffic grinds to halt in Sydney CBD as truck and van driver brawl

A road rage argument spun out of control in Sydney’s CBD as two drivers hopped out of their vehicles to brawl at the intersection of two major roads.

A bystander managed to capture the dramatic scenes as two drivers stop their vehicles in front of heavy midday traffic at the intersection of Elizabeth and Goulburn streets on Wednesday.

A 53-year-old bus driver and a 47-year-old van driver can be seen emerging from their vehicles about 12.40pm before fists are thrown and the two men become locked in a rage-fuelled fight.

The shocking video shows one of the men with a clear upper hand for the most of the brawl, repeatedly kicking and punching the other man as he struggles to get his footing.

At one point the man loses his balance and falls to the ground.

Traffic began to pile up as the two men moved the fight to the footpath and was only stopped when two bystanders stepped in.

Police have confirmed the bus driver was taken to hospital for treatment of facial injuries.

The van driver later left the scene.

Police are investigating the incident and have urged any witnesses to come forward.
