Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky’s Fiji island getaway

Aussie A-lister Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky spent Christmas 2022 on an exclusive private resort off the coast of Fiji that Pataky has dubbed “our favourite island.”

The tiny, heart-shaped private island of Tavarua is just 29 acres across and home to only one resort. Seven nights in a villa will set travellers back around $6000 per person.

“Merry Christmas to all from our favourite island!” Pataky captioned her first set of Instagram photos from the holiday a few days ago, following it up overnight with a new set of photos: “Bye Bye Tavarua!! Best surf ever,” she wrote.

Hemsworth, 39, and Pataky, 46, appeared to have daughter India, 10, and 8-year-old twin sons Tristan and Sasha in tow for the trip, as well as other family friends.

The family holiday came after Hemsworth recently dropped a career bombshell: He is taking “time off” from acting now he’s finished the publicity commitments for his latest project, the Disney+ docu-series Limitless, which finished with an episode focusing on death and mortality.

“Doing an episode on death and facing your own mortality made me go, ‘Oh God, I’m not ready to go yet,’” he told Vanity Fair.

Hemsworth had made a startling discovery during filming of the docuseries: He is “8 to 10 times more likely” than the average individual to develop Alzheimer’s disease.

“The idea that I won’t be able to remember the life I experienced, or my wife, my kids, is probably my biggest fear,” the action star said in the episode.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, he explained that the medical revelation served as a wake-up call to shake up his life.

“And then you start talking about kids and family and going, ‘Oh my God, they’re getting older, they’re growing up, and I keep slapping another movie on top of another movie.’ Before you know it, they’re 18, and they’ve moved out of house, and I missed the window.”

“It really triggered something in me to want to take some time off. And since we finished the show, I‘ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do.

“Now when I finish this tour this week, I’m going home, and I’m going to have a good chunk of time off and just simplify. Be with the kids, be with my wife.”
