An exciting new series makes it easier than ever to snap up incredible deals


Escape is launching an innovative travel show that will turn dream holidays into reality.

The interactive eight-part series Escape To … premieres on Sunday with a trip to the French and Italian Riviera on board the luxury superyacht Emerald Azzurra. Hosted by Merrick Watts, with comedian Lizzy Hoo and adventurer Tyson Mayr, it will enable audiences to book each experience as it unfolds.

The episodes are cut into eight segments that can play individually or consecutively. The contemporary format gives viewers control over when, where, and how they watch so they can tailor their experience.

The digital approach also offers local tips and behind-the-scenes insights into every deal.

Hoo kicks off the first episode with a focus on food.

“The best things I ate in the Riviera were the uni [sea urchin] from the market in Menton and a simple pesto pasta dish after a hard day’s touring in Portofino at La Gritta Ristorante,” Hoo said.

Meanwhile, Mayr finds the most underrated adventure on the Italian island of Elba.

“You have the option of throwing yourself into a cable car that looks more like an oversized birdcage – something Mez and I for some reason decided to share – but there is something rewarding about climbing to the top of a mountain and the views over the Tuscan archipelago are spectacular,” he said.

Coming weeks will dive into the best of the Northern Territory, the epicurean paradise of Provence, the rare treasures of the Kimberley, and the hottest things to see and do in Singapore. The crew also checks out the unbelievably cool surprises hidden in Perth, before finding new ways to experience Fiji.

Escape editor-in-chief Kerrie McCallum said this is not just another travel show.

Viewers will also have the chance to enter a competition to win a luxury cruise and airfares for two. The winner will be able to choose from 10 different Emerald Cruises itineraries with a value of up to $27,000.
