Monique Mitchell: P-plater caught on meth with kid in car


A P-plate driver has lost her licence after she was caught driving while on meth, with an eight-year-old child in her car.

Hairdresser Monique Jane Mitchell, 26, was pulled over in Mt Gambier, South Australia, at about 2.30pm on November 29 last year.

She was found to have meth in her system and told police she had used MDMA days earlier, The Mount Gambier News reported from Mount Gambier Magistrates Court.

Mitchell pleaded guilty to driving with methamphetamine with a child under 16 present and contravening a condition of a provisional licence.

She was stripped of her licence for a year and fined $1100.

Mitchell previously lost her licence in 2019 after being caught drug driving.
