East Mackay, Qld: Man allegedly stole woman’s car at knifepoint


A woman has escaped injury after a man unknown to her allegedly threatened her with a knife and demanded she get out of her car.

At about 3.30pm on Tuesday, February 14, the 29-year-old woman was stopped in her vehicle along Goldsmith St in East Mackay when a man she did not know approached her, Queensland Police allege.

They allege the man then demanded she get out of the car before producing a knife.

Police allege a “short struggle” took place and the man fled the scene in the woman’s 2019 blue Ford Endura.

The woman was not injured during the altercation, and police found the man in the allegedly stolen vehicle four days later in Cunnamulla.

The 32-year-old Glasshouse Mountains man was taken into custody and charged with entering a premises, armed robbery, fraud and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
