Adelaide: Child taken to hospital after being hit by train


A child has been struck by a train during the busy morning commute.

Just before 8.15am on Tuesday, police and emergency services were called to the Tambelin Railway Station in Adelaide after reports a child had been struck by a train.

SA Ambulance Service told NCA NewsWire the child suffered head injuries and was being transported to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Services along the Gawler train line between Elizabeth and Gawler have been halted.

SA Police have advised Clark Road along the railway has been shut and commuters should avoid the area.

Emergency services are still on the scene.
