Jennifer Lopez and sister Lynda attend Met Gala: Photo

Jennifer Lopez has been seen in a rare photo with her younger sister, journalist and author Lynda, as the pair attended yesterday’s Met Gala afterparty together in New York.

Lynda, 51, was born almost two years after 53-year-old Jennifer, and has a successful media career in her own right, working as a host and anchor across radio and television.

She attended yesterday’s Stella McCartney and Baz Luhrmann-hosted Met afterparty as her sister’s date, dubbing the event a “Mama’s night out” on Instagram.

Earlier, Jennifer took her vocal coach Stevie Mackey as her plus-one to the actual event, with her husband Ben Affleck nowhere to be seen. The Daily Mail reports that Affleck was not in attendance because he had “work commitments he could not get out of” in Los Angeles.

While JLo and her little sister are close, they appear only rarely on each other’s social media accounts – Lynda’s last post including her older sister was for JLo’s 52nd birthday, back in July 2021.

“My original BFF, I love you more than words can say,” she captioned the post.

“Not only are you the most fun, and my ride or die, You light the world and show me what’s possible and are my inspiration always. Sometimes I can’t believe I was so lucky that God put the beautiful soul that is you into my life.”

Jennifer made a splash on the Met Gala carpet yesterday, stunning in a black and pink cut-out gown with a revealing halter-neck design, along with dramatic elbow-length black gloves, a hat and fascinator.

But her look was positively subdued compared to some of the celeb outfits at yesterday’s Met Gala, which paid tribute to late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Stunt-happy pop star Lil Nas X arrived wearing nothing but a G-string and a lot of body paint, while actor Jared Leto disappeared inside a giant furry animal suit to pay tribute to Lagerfeld’s beloved feline, Choupette.

Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain turned heads with her new look, a tribute to Lagerfeld’s own distinctive personal style that rendered the usually-red-headed actress truly unrecognisable.

And the wild outfits continued on to the Met Gala afterparties: Kendall Jenner, who’d earlier bared her bum in a pants-free outfit at the main event, wore only a see-through top and black G-string to continue partying into the night.
