Jackie “O” Henderson has revealed she is ready to date again after signing up to the dating app Hinge – but she’s put some strict hook-up rules in place.
The radio personality shared an update on her dating life this morning on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, telling co-host Kyle Sandilands and newsreader Brooklyn Ross she spent last night chatting to “three or four” men she matched with on the app.
“I’m going to do it because why not?” the 48-year-old said of why she signed up to Hinge this week.
“I can’t go out all the time. I don’t want to do that. This is just easier [to meet men]. I want to have some fun. I want to go out on a date here and there.”
Sandilands, 51, wondered how her potential dates wrapped their heads around Henderson being a celebrity. But she said no one was “pretending” she was not on radio, but “they just might not acknowledge it”.
The shock jock then got all protective on his long-running co-host, asking to see photos of the men she’s been matched with.
“You’re not allowed because you’re going to scare everybody away,” she said. “You’ll have a go, and everyone will be like, ‘Well, I’m not going to like her because I’ll be talked about on the air.’”
Sandilands explained that he was just looking out for her so she doesn’t get “conned by any “f**k boy”.
“I know who the f**k boys are. I was one myself,” admitted Sandilands, who only just settled down last month after marrying his former employee, Tegan Kynaston.
“I’m not necessarily on there for a long-term relationship or anything like that,” Henderson explained, to which Sandilands replied: “What a sl**ty thing to say. That’s terrible. What’s happend to her?”
Henderson laughed it off, saying she just wanted to see what’s out there after being single for five years.
She split from photographer husband Lee Henderson in 2018 after 18 years together, 15 of which they were married. The former couple also share a daughter, Kitty, now 12.
“I’m not like, ‘Oh, my God, I must find the one.’ No. I just want to have a little bit of fun and go on a few dates,” she said. “That doesn’t exactly mean I want Tinder hook-ups, either.”
Although she won’t say no to a causal fling, Henderson says she has some dating rules, such as she will not “go down on a guy” on the first date, she will not send nudes, and she prefers to date men from 35 to 55.
“I just want to go out on a date and see what happens,’ she said.
