Man arrested over insane alligator stunt at Florida theme park

Authorities in the US have arrested a man over an insane act at Florida’s Busch Gardens theme park.

20-year-old Jacob Pursifull, accompanied by two others, ventured into the park’s alligator enclosure, which is secured with two layers of metal fencing, and tried filming the beasts for social media content.

According to a news release from the Tampa Police Department, Mr Pursifull allegedly entered the enclosure while one of his companions recorded the act.

Onlookers present at the scene can be observed in a video shared on social media urging Mr Pursifull to exit the enclosure and warning of the peril associated with getting too close to the reptiles.

The footage quickly gained viral attention online.

A clip cited by CNN affiliate WBBH captured Mr Pursifull exclaiming, “Another wild Karen. Crikey!” in response to the incident.

At present, it remains uncertain whether Mr Pursifull has legal representation.

The authorities have confirmed that Mr Pursifull posted a video of the incident on social media. However, no such video can currently be found on social media accounts that appear to belong to Mr Pursifull.

Tampa police credited leads obtained from social media for assisting in the identification and subsequent arrest.

On Monday, Mr Pursifull was apprehended and now faces charges of theft of services, trespassing and burglary of an occupied structure, as indicated in the police release and the Hillsborough County jail‘s website.

Booking information revealed that Mr Pursifull was released on bail on Tuesday.

The potential legal consequences for the two individuals who accompanied Mr Pursifull into the theme park remains unclear.
