A manhunt is underway after radio host and former Olympian Susie O’Neill’s home was targeted in a brazen burglary.
Queensland Police say four males broke into a Indooroopilly property shortly after 3am on Friday but fled after an occupant woke.
“Initial investigations indicate four males have gained entry to the property,” a spokesman said.
“The group has then stolen a set of car keys before they were interrupted by an occupant of the house.”
The intruders are reported to have left the scene in three getaway vehicles, two of which are believed to be stolen.
The home belongs to two-time Olympic gold medal winner Susie O’Neill, who has hosted Nova’s breakfast radio show in Brisbane since 2016, according to 9 News.
O’Neill did not mention the incident when she joined co-hosts’ Ash Bradnam and David “Luttsy” Lutterall at 6am on Friday.
However as the trio discussed plans to celebrate O’Neill’s upcoming 50th birthday, she told her co-hosts she was distracted as she had to “work through a few things”.
“I woke up in a cold sweat this morning, put it that way,” she said, quickly attributing it to the milestone birthday.
Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing and have urged anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The vehicles are described as a dark-coloured BMW X5, a blue Mazda CX-9 and a white hatchback.
