Perisher Ski Resort visitor finds phone with awkward note

A visitor who attended a popular Australian snow holiday destination is probably feeling a little red-faced, after their phone containing an obscure list of life goals as its lock screen background picture, was found by a fellow guest.

The phone, which was located “halfway down” the Front Valley at Perisher Ski Resort, located in Kosciuszko National Park in NSW, has gained attention on social media, after the person who found the device posted a photo of it on Facebook in a bid to find its owner.

“Phone found half way down Front Valley, handed into the booking office. Good luck on your goals,” a caption accompanying the post read.

While it’s not clear what model or brand the black smartphone is, it’s hoped its very distinct lock screen will help resort staff return it to its rightful owner.

The lock screen picture – which looks like it was created using an Android version of Apple’s Notes app – contains eight bullet points with goals the phone owner allegedly would like to achieve.

The list of objectives include: to “get jacked and be at 87 kgs”, “quit all nicotine”, “have $25,000 in bank account”, “have (a) motorbike”, and “get good marks at uni”.

However, they weren’t all sensible goals with some of the more obscure aims including: “getting better at fighting”, “have three girls on roster” and “don’t get a haircut for three months”.

The post, which was published on the Facebook group “Perisher Snow Lovers”, sent snow enthusiasts into a spin with many baffled by the choice of goals and where they were displayed.

“I’d be almost embarrassed to claim the lost phone … almost,” one person commented on the post.

“$25K and have 3 girls on roster lol tell him he’s dreaming,” another person said.

A third added that the ninth goal should be: “Zip phone in pocket so I don‘t lose it or otherwise I won’t have a way to check Perisher Snow Lovers to see if someone finds it, unveiling my life goals to the world.”

Meanwhile, others applauded the phone owner for their goals, with one person commenting: “They are phenomenal goals, nothing to be embarrassed about here.”

Snow season has officially kicked off at Perisher Ski Resort, which has recorded four centimetres of snowfall in the last seven days.

In addition to the natural snowfall, at least 182 snow guns are creating snow to ensure good ski conditions for the resort’s skiers and snowboarders.

According to the Weather Zone forecast, largely sunny skies and excellent visibility paired with a high pressure system in the upcoming week is bringing several great snow days.

At the end of the week, snow is expected to fall in higher parts of the resort before another high pressure system will return, improving visibility.
