Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce next move in a statement on Archewell website

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced the next collaboration for their not-for-profit organisation, following a turbulent period in their careers.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement on the Archewell Foundation website, which was established in 2020 after they left the UK, revealing their support for the charity Equimondo, which aims “to engage men and boys as allies in gender equality.”

“The 2023 data shows that men are increasingly involved in caregiving and would like to increase their care work at home, although deeply ingrained social norms and a lack of supportive policies and power structures discourage them from doing so,” their message read.

“The report recognises care work as the bedrock of society and calls for continued advancements towards gender equality.

“It also emphasises the need for media representation that normalises men’s caregiving roles.”

The statement ended: “The Archewell Foundation is proud to have supported this report, as well as Equimundo’s continued work to promote gender equality around the globe.”

It comes amid a bruising few months commercially for Harry and Meghan, with news of their reported $29 million Spotify deal collapsing and unflattering commentary about them from one of the streamer’s executives and other sources within the company.

It’s also been speculated in recent months that their massive $150 million Netflix contract had hit some roadblocks, with reports there were some concerns about the low level of output.

However, the couple’s charitable work has produced some great successes.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Harry had donated a huge sum to the charity he co-founded, Sentebale, which has grown by more than 50 per cent over the last 12 months.

The duke and duchess are yet to formally announce their next move commercially, but it’s been widely reported that Harry will be travelling to Africa in the coming months to create a Netflix documentary-style film.

Meanwhile, the MailOnline reports that following the axing of her podcast Archetypes, Meghan is now gearing up for a “string of commercial endorsements in fields meaningful to her, such as food, wellness, fashion and therapy”.
