Endeavour Hills shooting: Teen boy, 17 shot in sleep as gunfire rains into bedroom window


A teenage boy was shot in his sleep after gunfire rained into his bedroom window in the suburbs of south-east Melbourne.

Emergency services were called to Janmara Court home in Endeavour Hills after a 17-year-old boy was reportedly woken in the middle of gunfire about 1.20am on Wednesday.

Detectives believe a number of shots were fired from the road or footpath towards the home, with one of the bullets hitting the teenage boy while he was sleeping.

He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

His family were home at the time of the shooting but no other injuries were reported.

The area has been cordoned off while detectives and officers from the Major Crime Scene Unit process the scene.

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
