Truck stuck at Balaclava: Melbourne roads closed, Traffic delays, Peak hour, Sandringham line impacted


A truck carrying a digger has crashed into rail bridge in Melbourne’s south leading to chaos for morning commuters.

The truck is understood to have crashed into the rail bridge on Carlisle Street in Balaclava about 8am on Monday.

Delays of up to 45 minutes were expected for commuters with Carlisle St is blocked in both directions between Chapel and Westbury Street.

There are delays on the Sandringham train line while the bridge is assessed for damage.
