NSW: Motorbike rider killed after horror crash with bus in Sydney’s east

A motorcyclist believed to be in his 20s has died following a horror collision with a bus in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to intersection of Alison Rd and Doncaster Ave in Kensington about 3pm on Friday following reports of a crash.

Paramedics treated the rider at the scene, before taking him to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Tragically, the man later died in hospital.

The bus driver – a 34-year-old woman – was uninjured and taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has since been established with police investigating the circumstances surrounding this crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

A number of road closures were in place due to the crash however on Friday afternoon, with most having since been reopened.

As of 7.45pm, two of three eastbound lanes on Alison Rd remained closed, as well as a single westbound lane.

Motorists were urged to allow for extra travel time, while the right turn from Doncaster Ave onto Alison Rd was also closed.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Eastern Beaches Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers.
