Torrensville, South Australia: Man charged after woman stabbed in Adelaide’s west


A man has been charged after a suspected domestic stabbing in Adelaide overnight.

Police and paramedics rushed to Henley Beach Road in Torrensville at 9:30pm on Saturday night after hearing reports of a woman being stabbed.

Officers discovered a 44-year-old woman from Brooklyn Park who had suffered a stab sound to her torso.

She was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

After a brief manhunt, police discovered their suspect in the immediate location before arresting him.

The 40-year-old Brooklyn Park was charged with assault causing harm and possessing a knife in a public place.

He has been refused bail and will be appearing in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

South Australian Police have said that the man and woman are known to each other and the incident is not random.
