Victoria, crime: Two men stabbed inside store in Melbourne’s Footsrcay


A man has been rushed to hospital and another left with minor injuries after an “unprovoked” double stabbing inside a store in Melbourne’s inner suburbs.

Police believe the two men were chatting inside the store on Paisley St in Footscray just before 5pm on Monday when they were approached by an unknown man.

Investigators allege the man, believed to be in his 20s, pulled a knife from his jacket and stabbed both men in an unprovoked attack before fleeing on foot.

A 37-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, while a second 39-year-old Greenvale man was treated for minor injuries.

Investigators have since released images and CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquires into the shocking alleged attack.

The man is described as being about 175cm tall with dark coloured hair and dreadlocks.

He was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap with white writing, a denim jacket over the top of a dark hooded jumper, dark coloured pants, white shoes, and was carrying a dark bag.
