Nadia Bartel shares shopping tips, Lara Worthington causes frenzy at Myer with photo

Lara Worthington has starred in a “stunning” new campaign for Myer, sending fans into a spin.

The Aussie model, who currently lives in New York with her actor husband Sam Worthington and their three kids, appears alongside singer turned swimmer Cody Simpson for the retail giant, promoting Myer’s summer 23 range.

Lara, 36, flew home to Australia to shoot the beachside images as part of the partnership, wearing an array of new items that have hit Myer shelves – including garments from Country Road which recently returned to the department store.

In one photo for the campaign, Lara can be seen wearing a cotton two-piece from the heritage brand; a pair of chocolate gingham pants, which retail for $199, and the matching strapless bodice, $159.

Behind-the-scenes images supplied exclusively to news.com.au show Lara smiling alongside and Cody in a Country Road “Scallop Detail Shirt”, $159, which has been styled with the matching camel skort, $139.

Lara also rocked the $299 “Print Maxi Dress” from the brand, which celebrates its 50th birthday next year, featuring a cheeky cut-out.

In another photo, the Sydney native can be seen in a “sangria” red ribbed knit crop top, $89.95, and the matching column skirt, $199.

Lara expressed her excitement at featuring in the new Myer campaign back in August, revealing shooting on “home soil always brings a sense of comfort and connection that fuels my creativity”.

“The shoot with Myer was so much fun – long days with 4am starts and juggling jet lag, but the results were worth it,” she said in August.

“The campaign was shot by [photographer] Pierre Toussaint who I have worked with since I was 15 – it’s always great to reconnect and collaborate on projects like this together.

“There’s something about working with Australians that just has such a warm, fun, welcoming energy.”

To celebrate Country Road’s return to Myer, which began rolling out across 17 stores in July – with more to follow in 2024 — and the “Our Summer” campaign, select influencers and talent were shot wearing new pieces available in stores.

Guests included Melbourne WAG turned fashion entrepreneur Nadia Bartel, former reality star Martha Kalifatidis and TikTok sensation Millie Ford.

Nadia was photographed in on-trend suiting, wearing a black Country Road “Longline Vest”, priced at $279, and the matching $199 “Wide Pant”.

The mum-of-two looked effortlessly chic in the ensemble, which was styled by industry stalwart Paula Joye, to give Nadia a plunging neckline.

Nadia, who has emerged as a fashion leader since launching her own brand HENNE, told news.com.au investing in “quality pieces” was her biggest shopping tip.

“Even though at first it could seem overwhelming with department stores, I do love heading into Myer as I know they have so many brands I love under one roof,” she said.

“I just look for the brands that I know have good quality pieces such as Country Road, Cue and Witchery.

“After seeing Lara Worthington in Myer’s latest campaign, I had to try on and take home the two piece Country Road knit tank and skirt she was wearing, but in black of course.”

Nadia said she’s a huge fan of black, white and neutrals in her wardrobe, stating she loves to add “pops of colour” for a summer ready-look.

“In terms of pieces, shirting is really big this season. Striped and blue shirts thrown over a tank, then pairing back with denim is definitely one of my favourite looks for summer. “Separates are also great and so versatile – you can wear together like I am, or pair with shorts, denim etc.”

Millie, best known for her comedy content, was also a fan of the two-piece red set worn by Lara in the campaign.

In photos from the styling suite Millie is barely recognisable from her on-screen characters.

Shoppers have also been taken by the outfit, declaring on Myer’s Instagram that they “love the colour”, adding Lara looked “stunning” in it.

“Need this,” another user wrote, as someone else declared the summer ensemble a “must buy”.

Nadia also offered advice for shoppers looking to get the most out of their purchases, especially amid the current cost of living crisis.

“A great way to dress up or change a look is accessories,” she said. “Go for the really cute ballet flats and loaders that are our at the moment.

“Just throwing on some different accessories, from a different bag, sunglasses, big earrings are really big this season as well and that’s a nice way to change up an outfit.”

However, her most-used piece of the season is a blazer, with Nadia stating hers are on “high rotation” at the moment.

“Oversized blazers, with loose fitting jeans and tanks are so multifunctional,” she said.

“This summer I will also be throwing on plenty of oversized shirts and more colour in accessories to complete my look.”
