After a three-year hiatus, The Block open for inspections day made a triumphant return on Sunday, giving the public the chance to walk through and assess their favourite Block homes in person.
But fans were quick to notice a spot of controversy among the fanfare.
Located on Charming Street in Hampton East, Victoria, all 10 contestants were present to welcome the public into their homes, joined by the show’s hosts, Scott Cam, Shelley Craft, and Keith and Dan.
Fans of the show came out in full support of their favourite Blockheads, cheering and holding up signs.
However, a group photo shared on Scott Cam’s Instagram page has ignited a debate among fans.
They noticed that House 3’s Kristy and Brett had no support posters, sparking discussions online.
One fan said, “I don’t see one Kristy and Brett support poster in sight.”
Others joined in, with one person remarking, “Not one Kristy and Brett poster,” and another simply noting, “There is not one Kristy and Brett sign.”
As more fans began to notice the omission, the clear absence of support for the controversial couple became the focal point of conversation.
A fan who attended the open for inspections event commented that they were indeed holding up a sign for Kristy and Brett, but it was blocked by a person in front of them.
In response to questions about why they chose to support Kristy and Brett, given their controversial moments on the show, the fans offered insights into their motivation.
They explained, “Because I realise it’s a TV show and can be edited to be however they want it to be. They seemed like decent people with every interaction they had today. I don’t have a dog in the fight; just wanted them to have some fans in the crowd.”
Kristy and Brett have been open about their intention to stir things up on the show, revealing their plan to create drama in an interview with Today Extra.
Brett said: “Yeah, look, well, we did go in with the intention to ruffle feathers. Stir the pot, and mind games are going to potentially come with that because it allows us to have them thinking about other things other than their room.”
He also shared his initial apprehension about their approach, considering the other contestants were all “so nice”.
“I was like, ‘Hey, heads up. I’ve been talking a lot of crap on you’.”
