Abbie Chatfield steps down as Fridayz Live co-host

Abbie Chatfield has announced she will be stepping down from her role as co-host at the Fridayz Live tour after a reported allegation of sexual harassment.

The former Bachelor contestant turned influencer revealed on Friday that there was an “active lawsuit” involving a headline act.

Fridayz Live, a touring RNB and hip-hop music event presented by Hit Network’s RNB Fridays and New Zealand’s ZM & Flava, is headlined this year by Jason Derulo, Boyz II Men and Kelly Rowland.

While Chatfield did not name Derulo, it was revealed earlier this month that the singer, who is also a judge on The Voice Australia was accused by US singer Emaza Dilan of asking for sexual favours in return for help with her music career.

In the lawsuit, Ms Dilan accused Derulo of aggressive behaviour, harassment and unwanted sexual advances dating back to multiple offences allegedly committed in 2021-22.

“I’m just coming on here to let you know I have decided to step down from co-hosting the Fridayz Live tour this year and most likely in years to come,” Chatfield said on Instagram.

“At this time, there is an active lawsuit involving the headline act, including an allegation of sexual harassment.

“While these are presently allegations and there has been no resolution in court, I personally don’t feel comfortable performing my duties as co-host while these legal matters are outstanding.

“This is my personal stance and I have decided to remove myself from the line-up.”

On Friday, the Fridayz Live website updated its information regarding Chatfield, stating that “due to personal reasons, Abbie Chatfield will no longer co-host Fridayz 2023”.

The tour, now in its sixth edition, is set to make stops in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland.

It has previously hosted musical talents such as 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson, Makelemore and TLC.

This year the line-up also features artists such as Flo Rida, JoJo and Havana Brown.

Chatfield apologised to fans let down by the news.

“I’m sorry to disappoint anyone who was excited to come and see me at Fridayz Live this year,” she said.

“I wish the other acts on the line-up the absolute best for their shows and am disappointed I can’t be there.”

Chatfield co-hosted last year’s event alongside Fatman Scoop.

Fridayz Live organisers were contacted for comment.
