The homicide squad is investigating after a woman’s body was found in the NSW Hunter Region.
The body was discovered at a home on Sydney Street in Muswellbrook on Tuesday morning.
A crime scene has been established.
Strike Force Llangollen has been established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death with the assistance of the homicide squad.
A critical incident team from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District will now investigate all other circumstances surrounding the incident.
That investigation will be subject to an independent review.
Police will provide a further update on the incident later in the morning.
