World’s biggest Lego store opens in Sydney CBD

The world’s biggest Lego store is set to open in Sydney on Saturday.

The two-storey store is located in Pitt Street Mall in the CBD and is chock-a-block with more than 10 million pieces of Lego.

Visitors will be wowed by some of the huge Lego artworks inside, including a massive version of the Sydney Harbour Bridge which weighs two tonnes and features more than 545,000 bricks.

The showstopping model took more than 3600 hours to build.

News.com.au got a sneak peak inside the store this week (you can check it out in the video player above) and our favourite feature was the ‘Minifigure Factory’, where shoppers can pay roughly $20 to design a custom Lego figurine which then gets made right in front of you.

“With immersive features, creative play experiences and playful nods to culture, Sydney’s new store will give Lego fans of all ages the chance to discover a wide range of Lego products and exciting digital and physical experiences,” Troy Taylor, vice president and general manager of Lego Australia told news.com.au.

“We hope the new store contributes to the Lego Group’s global mission of inspiring and developing the builders of tomorrow, whilst creating special memories for every fan who visits.”
