Adelaide girl hospitalised after car rams three people at backyard wedding reception

Three wedding guests were injured after a car reversed into a crowd who were leaving a wedding reception in Adelaide’s southwest.

CCTV footage captured the moment of the altercation at Parafield Gardens, with police on the hunt for the driver.

Initially the car arrives at the party before the driver is approached by guests.

The car then suddenly backs into a crowd near the home’s driveway, and a guest is hit and knocked to the ground.

The car then reverses again and hits two more people.

Emergency services were called to a Hatherleigh Rd home about 10pm on Saturday night following reports of a disturbance.

A 16-year-old Osborne girl was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for non life-threatening injuries, while a 28-year-old Royal Park woman, and a 36-year-old man from Parafield Gardens also sustained minor injuries.

Authorities said they’d spoken to several people at the scene, and investigations were ongoing. While the alleged driver is known to the wedding party, police have yet to locate the person.

7 News reports one neighbour woke up on Sunday morning and found blood spattered on their driveway.

“I hope they catch that wicked person. That’s a wicked act,” neighbour Alhaji Dunbaya said.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV, dashcam, or mobile footage of the event, has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
