Police are urgently searching for the owner of a human finger found abandoned on a nature strip in Melbourne’s north.
Officers were alerted to the bizarre discovery by a passer-by who found the finger on Prospect St about 2pm on Wednesday.
Detectives from the Merri-bek Crime Investigation Unit have since been brought in to help find the owner of the errant appendage.
Police on Friday urged anyone who might identify the owner or the finger or any potential witnesses to contact Crimestoppers.
