Light plane crashes from Camden Airport in Sydney’s south west

A pilot is feared dead after a light plane crashed in Sydney’s southwest.

Emergency services were called to Brownlow Hill Loop Rd in Brownlow Hill near Camden about 3pm on Wednesday following reports a Cessna plane from a nearby flying school had crashed.

A NSW Police spokesperson said they believe a person had been killed in the crash.

The aircraft, which crashed just nine kilometres from Camden Airport, is believed to be from a local flying school.

Images taken of the wreckage show the aircraft has been left unrecognisable by the crash.

Police have cordoned off the paddock where the shattered plane lies and are now searching for the pilot’s body.

It’s not yet confirmed whether the pilot was the only person on the plane.

More to come.
