Woman in leather lingerie charged with drink driving after e-bike crash in Sydney

A woman wearing what appears to be leather lingerie has been charged with drink driving following a collision with an e-bike in Sydney’s Moore Park overnight.

Emergency services were called to South Dowling Street in Sydney’s east at 3.45am after a collision between a Subaru sedan and an e-bike near the light rail intersection with Devonshire Street.

Paramedics treated the cyclist, a 29-year-old man who was riding a Lime e-bike, at the scene before he was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The 27-year-old female driver allegedly returned a positive result on a roadside breath test and was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where she underwent a secondary breath test, returning an alleged reading of 0.095, NSW Police said.

She was later transferred to St Vincent’s Hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.

The woman has since been charged with a mid-range drink driving offence and will front the Downing Centre Local Court on March 14.

South Dowling Street was closed southbound following the accident with traffic impacted for several hours.

A crime scene was established with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attending to examine the scene, but it’s believed the man was found on the road unconscious and sustained injuries believed to be consistent to being run over by a car.

Police said inquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash, and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
