Here’s every song Taylor Swift is credited as the solo writer

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has well and truly taken over Australia, as Sydney fans ready themselves for four nights of music, friendship bracelets and the hottest ticket in the world right now.

Reaching 146 countries, The Eras Tour has had a major impact on the global economy grossing an estimated two billion dollars – coining the term “Swiftanomics.”

The Eras Tour has also given us insight into Swift’s life, with the pop sensation using her music to be vulnerable with her fans.

“I write these moments in time. The songs are written when I’m feeling what is discussed in the song. It’s all done when it’s happening,” Swift said.

“I would much rather my personal life be sung about. I think it’s nicer that way.”

Whether it’s the innocent days of her debut album Taylor Swift, the emotive songwriting in Speak Now, the rage of Reputation or the break up anthems in Midnights, the world can’t get enough of Taylor’s story telling. To celebrate her success, we take a look at every song Taylor is credited as writing solo.

Does Taylor Swift write her own songs and lyrics?

Back in January 2022, when asked a question about Taylor Swift’s impact as a songwriter, Damon Albarn, the frontman of Blur and the Gorillaz, told the LA times “She [Taylor] doesn’t write her own songs.”

In response Taylor wrote: “@DamonAlbarn I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really f** up to try and discredit my writing. WOW.”

In fact, Swift has written or co-written every song in her discography, with the exception of several cover songs and two guest features, alongside some songs released by other artists.

She has also collaborated and co-written with many other songwriters and producers, including Liz Rose, Jack Antonoff, Max Martin, Shellback, Aaron Dessner, Ed Sheeran, Justin Vernon, Ryan Tedder and several more.
