Former West Coast Eagle premiership player Daniel Kerr has pleaded guilty to persistently engaging in family violence against his ex-partner and mother of his children for eight years.
The 40-year-old appeared in the WA District Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to the single charge.
Police had alleged Kerr, the brother of Matilda’s star Sam Kerr, had carried out the offending against his former partner, Michelle McAtackney, in Perth between December 2013 until October 2019.
Prosecutors informed the court four other charges against Kerr were dropped, including one count of deprivation of liberty and three counts of intending to carry out an act that is likely to cause harm or endanger the life, health or safety of a person.
Kerr will return to court on April 5 for further mention.
Kerr played 220 games for West Coast and was runner-up for the Brownlow Medal twice.
He was part of the Eagles’ premiership winning team in 2006, before retiring in 2013.
