Pauline Hanson raises money for satirical cartoon Please Explain with commemorative Senate gin and vodka

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson is celebrating her 70th birthday a few months early by launching a collectors edition of her new gin and vodka range.

At first glance, Ms Hanson appears on the commemorative bottle to be presenting herself in the fashion of a Roman senator but upon closer inspection she’s giving the Aussie flag a hardy clean on an old fashioned washboard.

Donning an apron and another Australian flag in the form of a tea towel slung over her shoulder, Ms Hanson stares off into the distance as she appears busy with housework – perhaps looking forward to cracking open a bottle of her own gin or vodka.

Senator Hanson is hoping people will fork over $99 for a bottle or Senate gin or Senate rosella vodka, with proceeds going towards her Please Explain YouTube series.

The bottles are described on the website as having “remarkable blend” that “is an artisanal marvel that embodies the passion and spirit of one of Australia’s most distinctive political figures”.

“I’m proud to announce the launch of my 70th Anniversary collectors edition gin, and unique rosella vodka that we’ve produced with local distillers here in Yeppoon,” Ms Hanson said on X, formally known as Twitter.

“Thanks for your support everyone.”

Ms Hanson’s YouTube channel is described as a place to “set the record straight, voice her opinions and concerns on Australian issues plus also share other informative YouTube videos”.

Ms Hanson, who turns 70 in May this year, launched the cartoon series in 2022.

It was originally pitched as six episodes before 30 YouTube episodes were commissioned.

The senator had previously released a bottle of Rum Nation and a Christmas Spirit, which both retailed online between $100 to $150.
