Bindi Irwin teases brother Robert over Gold Logie nomination

He may be the future golden boy of television but in Bindi Irwin’s eyes, Robert will always be her little brother and she’s ready to prove it.

Robert was announced as one of the front runners for a Gold Logie for his first year co-hosting I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! on Monday, making him the youngest male ever to be nominated for the prestigious Gold Logie.

To celebrate, his older sister Bindi posted a throwback picture of herself clutching her own 2008 silver Logie on Instagram as a way of supporting her younger brother by encouraging fans to vote for him.

“Hey Australia, vote for my awesome brother so he can catch up to me 16 years later …” Bindi captioned the post.

The cheeky post created a bit of entertaining rivalry between the famous brother and sister, with one fan labelling it was “classic siblings” behaviour.

“At least mine’s gold,” Robert commented on the post.

“You haven’t won it yet,” Bindi reminded him.

“Well actually, I did get nominated for 2 Logies. Hahahaha soooo…”, Robert chimed back.

“Sorry, I can’t hear you over my Emmy award …” Bindi quickly responded, referring to her Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series award.

Conceding defeat, Robert simply stated “Dang it”.

Taking to his own Instagram, Robert used the banter with his sister as a reminder for fans to support him in the vote.

“Ok uh … really gonna need that Logies vote now guys, it just got real,” he wrote.

Robert was also nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter in the 2024 awards, with the winners being announced on August 18.

Bindi had won the Silver Logie for Most Popular New Female Talent following her work in Bindi the Jungle Girl.
