SA Police called to light plane crash in Mulgathing, near Coober Pedy

Emergency services are travelling to South Australia’s far north after reports of a light plane crash.

South Australia Police were called following reports a light plane crashed at 9.30am on Thursday.

It’s understood the light plane crashed into a paddock near Mulgathing, about 260km southwest of Coober Pedy and about 830km northwest of Adelaide.

A SA Police spokeswoman said crews were expected to arrive at the scene after midday due to the distance.

“Emergency services are making their way to the scene of the crash and further details will be provided as they become available,” a SA Police statement said.

Operated by Jumbo Pastoral, the Mulgathing station is in the Glendambo and Cooper Pedy region and is about 120km west of the Stuart Highway.
