CODE Bet – Australia Tunisia preview FIFA World Cup

This is the Socceroos best chance for some points in the World Cup and if they play a positive brand of football they should do quite well here.

TUNISIA: $2.50

DRAW: $3.25

AUSTRALIA: $3.75

(odds via Ladbrokes, bet365)

Who can fire for Australia?

When Australia were in attack against France they did manage to look dangerous, which led to great build up before Craig Goodwin’s goal.

It was just a shame they couldn’t get that same attack going in the second half.

Coming up against a side in Tunisia that isn’t at the same level as France, Graham Arnold will get the Socceroos to play on the front foot more and also get Celtic’s Aaron Mooy on the ball as much as possible.

Mooy has Premier League experience and his slick passing will be critical in this game and will get Australia on the scoreboard.

Not only is he a classy passer, but Mooy is great value to score a goal with his long-range shot ability.

  • Anytime goalscorer – Aaron Mooy: $8 (via bet365)

At times Tunisia sat back against Denmark and teased long shots: Mooy isn’t afraid of taking them on from distance and could score a belter in this one with handy odds to score.

Will both teams look to attack?

In the lead up to the tournament and so far in the World Cup itself both Australia and Tunisia have shown they can score against the world’s best sides and now both facing each other’s poorer defences we should see at least one goal from both teams.

With only one goal between them in the opening games, both sides will be looking to play attacking football and lift their goal difference to make it out of the group.

  • Both teams to score – Yes: $1.95 (via Ladbrokes)

This attacking nature will mean both defences will be caught on the counter attack and makes the ‘both teams to score’ market a perfect multi addition.

Can the Aussies gain some points?

It won’t be an easy task but the Socceroos strong midfield matches up well with Tunisia.

The desperation from the Aussies to prove they deserve to be at this World Cup will be on display and having just played the world champs, they will find facing a much lower-ranked Tunisia a lot easier.

This match will involve two sides looking to build their goal tally and could have a score line of 2-2 or 2-1, hence why the double chance bet is a safe one.

THE PICK: Australia or Draw & Over 2.5 goals: $4.50 (via Betr)
