Viral photo of Polish town Suloszowa shows 6000 people living on one 9km street

A photo of a village in Poland is doing the rounds on social media.

Suloszowa is located in southern Poland with a population of roughly 6000 people, who all live on one single street.

A birds-eye photo of the village has resurfaced and is being shared on Facebook, Twitter and TikTok showing just how unique the village is.

Thousands of houses can be seen on either side of a road stretching 9km surrounded by various patches of greenery believed to be farming fields.

“Beautiful picture from Poland. Summer is best time to visit my beautiful country. Go Poland!” one person wrote on Facebook.

“Poland is so beautiful! We’re in love with this photo,” said another, while a third said: “Truly an incredible site.”

A local wrote: “I live near the village. Amazing view.”

Others described the photo as “awesome” and “amazing”, while some joked it was probably designed by a lazy postman.

Some questioned what the traffic was like.

“I don’t worry about floods, I worry about traffic!” one joked.

It has also been posted to Reddit where one person tried to explain the meaning behind the lines of greenery. When someone asked if each property had its own thin strip of farmland, someone responded: “I just showed this to my Polish friend and he said yes!”

They continued: “Each house has that strip of land to do whatever on, hence different colours and they are using the land for different purposes. Some grow crops on it, others have animals, some just leave it.

“I said I didn’t believe him but he says it’s true.”

Another person said from a biological standpoint, “that is probably incredibly healthy”.

“This should be the norm. Variation, sanctuaries for wildlife, not voluminous monoculture, and a healthy mix of plants and animals.”

The village is located 29km northwest of Krakow, and is connected to famous attractions including Ojcowski National Park and Pieskowa Skala, a 14th century Renaissance cliffside castle.

According to Expedia, it isn’t hard to find exciting things to see and do in Suloszowa, with the online travel company also noting other popular nearby attractions including the 700-year-old Main Market Square, the Oskar Schindler Factory and St Mary’s Basilica.
