Prince Harry in the UK: King Charles set to embark on solo holiday as Harry returns

King Charles is reportedly set to leave the United Kingdom just as Prince Harry arrives for a rare visit.

The Duke of Sussex is returning as part of his court battle against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) over phone hacking allegations, according to the UK’s Telegraph.

However, Harry’s brief visit won’t include a catch-up with his father, with reports Charles is planning to go on a solo five-day holiday to one of his homes in Transylvania at the same time to do some hiking.

The Telegraph reports that as a result of the conflicting schedules, it’s highly unlikely the pair will cross paths.

It comes just a month after Harry’s solo fly-in-fly-out visit for the King’s coronation, during which Harry arrived the evening before and flew back to his new home in Montecito, California, within two hours of the Westminster Abbey ceremony ending.

It’s understood he had no private meetings with any members of his family during the brief trip.

Harry also surprised onlookers by showing up in the UK in late March as part of another phone hacking lawsuit (against the Daily Mail) during which the King was reportedly unable to catch up with him due to a full slate of prior commitments.

This time around, it’s unclear where Harry will be staying when he heads back to his home country, following reports the King issued an eviction notice to he and wife Meghan Markle from their British base, Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor.

After initially being given their packing orders earlier this year following the release of his explosive memoir, Spare, it’s understood Charles softened his stance and extended their notice in order to allow Harry to stay there while in England for the coronation.

While the father and son’s relationship hit its lowest point ever in recent months, reports surfaced around the time the duke finally confirmed his coronation attendance – just three weeks before the big day – that they’d shared a private conversation to begin healing the rift.

According to The Sun, royal sources claimed there was a “willingness and wanting to mend on both sides” following years of worsening tension between the pair.
