Kmart: $5 cup holder looks identical to $20 Frank Green version

Shoppers are rushing to Kmart to get their hands on a “life changing” new $5 product.

The department store has just released its new ‘car bottle holder’ that looks identical to the more expensive cult Frank Green product.

The latter retails on the website for four times the price at $20 and looks almost exactly the same as the Kmart one.

The only differences are the colour range, and the lack of the ‘Frank Green’ writing on the front.

The Kmart car bottle holder comes in pink, black, turquoise and orange colours and is made of silicone.

The cup holder allows people to transport water bottles of any size in their vehicle, with the silicone mould especially handy for larger bottles that may not fit into a normal size car cup holder.

Posting to a Facebook group designed for Kmart lovers, a woman shared her exciting find.

“For anyone who has an emotional support water bottle, run, don’t walk, to Kmart,” she wrote.

“$5 from the camping section.”

An “emotional support water bottle” was described on the post as “the water bottle that goes everywhere with you”.

“Kinda like your fave chapstick. And if you’ve left the house without it your whole day is ruined!” a Kmart fan explained further.

Group members were thrilled with the find and flooded the post with thousands of likes and excited comments about the bargain product.

Many said they were keen to buy one, even if they already had the Frank Green version.

There were also plenty of people tagging friends and family about the product to help solve the issue of large drink bottles not fitting in their car cup holders.

“Know what I’m buying tomorrow!” one commented.

“Oooooh I need,” another shopper said.

“Guess I don’t need to go to Bunnings now,” a Kmart fan told a friend.

“Thank you for sharing this I’m on my way,” another posted.

“Kmart coming through with the goods again.”

Kmart is well known for having cheaper versions of cult brand products.

Earlier this year, a pair of $25 sneakers whipped shoppers into a frenzy, with one TikTok user claiming they’re the ultimate dupe of a popular Nike style.

The clip, captioned “Kmart dupe finds”, has gone viral on the platform, drumming up more than 324,000 views.

The Kmart Tennis Sneakers, which user @jorjablogz showed in both a black-and-white and pale blue-and-white colourway, have been compared by shoppers as a cheaper alternative to Nike’s Low Cut Pandas, which retail for as much as $400 and are often sold out in Australia.

TikTok users were stunned at the find.

“They actually, like, look good,” one commented.

“I bought a pair and painted the Nike tick for my sister’s friend’s birthday present … cheapest dunks ever,” a second wrote, with another agreeing: “Just stick a Nike sign on them.”

“Bro just draw the Nike logo then boom.”

To get away with the fact they’re not the real deal, one person suggested wearing the sneakers “with some long pants … only front of shoe is visible”.
