Woolworths is bringing back popular cheese advent calendar

Woolworths has relaunched a $28 Christmas item that hundreds are eager to snatch up ahead of the festive season.

The supermarket giant is bringing back it’s insanely popular Thomas Dux 12 Days Of Cheese Advent Calendar this year.

The Cheese-mas advent calendar is made in the United Kingdom, featuring 12 cheeses such as a red Leicester variety that was made in Somerset by third-generation cheesemakers.

A cheddar cheese with chilli, this time crafted in Lancashire and featuring chilli flakes and a warm note to the mild and firm cheese, is also on offer inside.

Another Lancashire cheese in the collection is a double Gloucester cheese with spring onions and chives, which is touted as “mellow, buttery cheese includes spring onion and chives adding a subtle onion, herby note”.

An image of the advent calendar was posted to Facebook by food blogger Foodie Mumma Ren, who captioned the image: “My favourite Advent Calendar has just been spotted by Mark at Woolworths! It’s back for 2023!”

In previous years, such as 2019, the advent calendar sold out in record time.

“Our award-winning Thomas Dux range has quickly become a customer favourite. The range includes high quality, delicious specialty cheeses and antipasto and our customers love that it’s great value and perfect for entertaining,” Jason McQuaid, Woolworths Supermarkets Commercial Director – Chilled, told news.com.au.

“We’re excited to bring back the incredibly popular Thomas Dux 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar as part of our Christmas cheese range. This has been a favourite for

Woolworths shoppers, and we look forward to more customers discovering and enjoying this cheesy take on the traditional Advent Calendar.”

Social media users were incredibly impressed with the advent calendar, with many expressing their keenness to get their hands on one.

“Oh I love this! Blighty cheese,” one social media user commented on the image.

Another said: “Going to buy this again! I was just thinking about it yesterday.”

“I’ll have one of these thanks,” one said after tagging a friend in the comment section.

Another said: “I hope I can find this to get it, I love my cheese.”

“Ohhhh I’m going to have to keep a look out for this one,” another said, while one expressed it was “their kind of advent calendar”.

The long-awaited advent calendar is already available in some Woolies supermarkets, with more Christmas items expected to begin trickling in next week.
