Margot Robbie, Oscars: Barbie actor stars in new Chanel campaign for Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche collection

Margot Robbie’s name has been on everyone’s lips this Hollywood awards season.

From the black metallic column gown she walked the Oscars red carpet in, to the burnt orange feather boa she wore to Chanel’s pre-Academy Awards dinner in Los Angeles, there has been one consistent theme – and this time, it’s not Barbiecore.

Courtesy of Robbie’s long-time collaborator, Chanel makeup artist Pati Dubroff, the Australian-born star, 33, has been showing off the French luxury house’s latest beauty innovation: the Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche collection.

The Barbie actor wore the line to Chanel’s pre-Oscars dinner (in shade 04:00, a “warm matte hue”), teamed with fresh skin and lightly defined eyes.

On set for the new Chanel campaign, Robbie was red hot in shade 00:00, a luminous matte “Sienna” red, inspired by midnight.

“In my regular life, I keep my makeup pretty simple … and a little more adventurous when it’s a red carpet look,” Robbie said, speaking about her makeup look prior to the Chanel dinner.

“Tonight, the makeup was really to compliment the burnt orange feather colours,” she added, of the disco-inspired aesthetic. “We’ve played with warm tones and a bit of a poppy lip.

“I’m a night owl, so I’m often up very late!”

Packaged in a white case trimmed with the house’s signature bold black lines, Chanel’s Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche collection was inspired by night-time – and all its glamour.

“Night. That magical time when the city lights up and comes to life to the sound of heels clicking across the cobblestones,” reads the presser. “At the heart of the evening excitement, ROUGE ALLURE VELVET sets the pace for a night without limits.”
