Kmart has revealed a new $25 item that has been flying off shelves, with the discount superstore stating: “Shoppers are loving it.”
The Anko $25 Boat Neck Midi Dress, which comes in four colours, was introduced to the store as part of its autumn apparel range.
Since hitting Kmart shelves, it has proved extremely popular, with many rushing to rave about the knitwear item on social media.
Emma, who goes by the handle @themumway_ online, tried on every colour of the dress, declaring the affordable womenswear product was “a favourite”.
“She showed off the dress hugging her baby bump, striking her best pose as she went through the range,” she captioned her video, filmed in the changing rooms of her local Kmart.
The social media user, who shares “bump-friendly style inspo”, styled the figure-hugging ensemble with a pair of black flats and silver jewellery.
When asked if she was tall, as some shoppers were concerned the dress wouldn’t fit them properly, she confirmed she was 163cm which resulted in a mid-length length in the skirt.
Fellow influencer Tori Jane, who is also pregnant, said she has been living in dresses during her pregnancy, which is why the $25 dress caught her eye.
“Not only is it comfortable but can be worn so many ways too! I think this is a perfect wardrobe addition even if you aren’t pregnant because of how versatile it is,” she said.
Tori styled the dress in three ways — a more casual look with sneakers, a denim jacket and a hat, a more corporate look with an oversized handbag and loafers as well as a going out look with a bulky jacket and boots.
The dress is such a hit among shoppers, Kmart shared its own video, showing off the popular wardrobe item.
Since it was shared, the clip – which demonstrates how to wear the garment “dressy” and in a more “casual” manner – has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
“I have that dress and it’s so good,” one shared.
“OK, these fits ate,” another added.
As one simply declared: “SLAY.”
However there were some who claimed $25 was “too expensive”.
“If I wanted to take out a loan for an outfit, I’ll go to a big brand,” one remarked.
Kmart told news.com.au the dress was popular because it offers versatility on a winter classic.
