Domino’s brings back ‘double decadence crust’

Pizza giant Domino’s is bringing back a beloved crust option after Aussie fast-food lovers voted for the decadent addition on social media.

The “double decadence crust” will be available once more from Monday as a $4 upgrade to any large pizza, the company said.

The crust features a rich and gooey cheese sauce made from cheddar and parmesan, layered between two perfectly crispy bases and topped with tastier, stretchier mozzarella.

Domino’s head of product development and innovation Michael Treacy said the combo had stood the test of time after originally making its debut on the menu more than a decade ago.

“For those craving a taste of nostalgia and comfort, we’re thrilled to be reuniting fans with the beloved double decadence,” he said.

“As I always say, why have one crust, when you can have two?” Mr Treacy said.

“Each slice offers a mouth-watering sensation of wonderfully gooey cheese sauce oozing from the base as you bite into your pizza.

“Crust me, you need to try it.”

Double decadence is on offer for a limited time.

Domino’s Australia and New Zealand chief marketing officer Allan Collins said he loved listening and delivering on customer feedback.

“Some pizzas come in and out of fashion but not our double decadence crust,” he said.

“As all good pizza connoisseurs know, the secret to a great pizza starts with the base and this base is as mouth-watering and cheesy as they come.

“So it’s no surprise that our customers have been crying out for its comeback.

“We even had one customer comment on our social channels every day for an entire year asking us to bring it back, and at Domino’s, if there’s one thing we can guarantee, it’s that we always deliver.”

Domino’s boasts outlets in every state and territory.
