Customers are over the moon about a new kids range from supermarket giant Woolworths that replicates the shopping experience.
The Woolworths range was initially launched in October 2021, but this year it has seen new items added.
Extras now added to the range include a mini bakery, chiller bag, deluxe checkout and a revamped mini supermarket with fridge.
Currently 1000 stores around the country stock the items, but they are only available while stocks last over the Christmas period.
Social media exploded over the items.
“If you have adult spending money you can get them, literally nobody will stop you,” one social media user said.
Another added: “You need to leave that aisle. As a mum-of-two, soon to be three, that looks like danger.”
One said: “I bought the tiny bag for my son because he always carries one around while we shop and it drags on the ground and now he has one his size.”
But others were less-than-impressed about the range, with one slamming the prices.
“Wait. Was the price tag $20 for a smaller version of what you buy at the counter for a dollar?” one asked. (The kids’ chiller bag comes with 10 wooden pretend food toys inside.)
Another said: “Better start teaching them the horrors of customer service young so it’s not a shock to them when they’re older.”
A Woolworths spokesperson told news.com.au: “With Christmas around the corner, parents are starting to look for fun gifts that foster creativity and imagination in their children.
“We’re excited to bring back our Big Box Toy range with a few new additions, for all the fresh food kids in the making to enjoy, a mini supermarket with a fridge, mini bakery and a deluxe checkout to name a few.
“They’re already proving to be a popular gift with customers so far and we expect them to be a big hit this Christmas.”
